Indulge me for a second. Consider the following scenario:

You’ve been praying to Him (Jesus) all your life, begging, asking Him to just show up and tell you what to do with your life. Been reading His word, seeking His face and even fasting about it. And then, after all that, He speaks, but it’s not what you expected AT ALL.

So what do you do? “Some” of us merely say that’s not what He wants for us, because it doesn’t sound like whereHe (we) would want our lives to go. Others make excuses of why they can’t do it… imagine us, lowly, sinful, imperfect humans trying to tell God, the Almighty, sovereign and holy Jehovah that He made a mistake… the audacity we have as Christians! And believe you me, it’s not just us; even those in the Bible made the same mistakes as us, Moses for example. But the person I want to mention today is Jeremiah the prophet.

At first, many would be wondering… “Jeremiah? wasn’t he one of leh babehthe great prophets ordained by God? How could he have refused God?” Well, it turns out he did. Jeremiah responded to God’s great call by saying “behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.” You know what God said to him after that? He said, (paraphrasing) “You better believe that you’re going son, whether you like it or not. And don’t even think about being scared, otherwise I will make a fool out of you before all the people.”

Now that’s what I’m talking about! Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” He plans on taking you somewhere, and it doesn’t depend on you. So MAN UP! don’t be a child and say why He can’t, but be a man like Paul and say that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!

If God says He’ll take you there, there’s no power, strength, circumstance or person who could stop you… Except yourself! So go forth my friends, don’t ask Him to lead you if you don’t plan on following; don’t try to follow what He didn’t lead you to… Have a blessed day folks!
